Robert was born in Leipzig in 1979. His first camera was an orange Beirette, followed by his father’s Exa 1b and some equipment from HGB Leipzig around 1990. He still shoots with them today.
After using negative film and slides around the year 2000 and a long hiatus, he returned to analog photography in 2023. He has lived in Northern Germany for twenty years. Most of his photographs are taken in this area. Since Autumn 2025, the entire process—exposure, development, scanning—has been handled in-house.
